The House of Ferragamo always has something new, fresh, and fun! Their aesthetic is approachable, but it’s always so much better than what you already have in your wardrobe. Furthering their rep as a trend-forward brand that is steeped in history and classic lines, Salvatore Ferragamo recently put on a huge party in Manhattan celebrating the launch of L’Icona, showcasing Vara’s 35th anniversary. Happy birthday, Vara!

More specifically, L’Icona, www.icona.ferragamo.com, is an online art project (how hip is that!) curated by Claiborne Swanson Frank. The retailer is reintroducing its infamous shoe, Vara, to fashionistas who will undoubtedly revel in the opportunity to sport a chic ballet flat. We love our heels, but every sole needs some down time!

And, we must give a shout-out to one of our fav male models, Garrett Neff. Nobody rocks orange quite like him, proving that orange really is the new black!

Coco’s Ketucky Derby Style (okay, you know this is about BIG HATS!)

      Coco

One of our absolute fave glamour girls, Coco Rocha, rocked the Longines red carpet at the Kentucky Derby. She served as a judge of the fashion show at the Kentucky Oaks. For our part, we couldn’t stop marveling at her ability to pull off a REALLY BIG hat. C’mon, not many people can rock an entire bushel of flowers directly on top of their head. But, this supermodel made it work.

Complete with a fitted (and rather lady-like suit), Cocoa just glowed. Her peaches and cream complexion was highlighted by her smartly chosen ensemble. The flirt in her skirt had a slightly Daisy Buchanan quality (hello Great Gatsby!) which made the most delicious match with the high-end sponsor Longines. Supermodels, horses, and fashion shows … it doesn’t get much better!

Purple People Eaters (seriously, what is holding up that dress?)

        Bar

We recently caught up with actor Tony Shalhoub and he described everything as “pretty much, perfect”. Well, that tends to happen your movie, Pain & Gain is number one at the box office and you are nominated for a Tony award all in the same week. Not bad! Here’s our question, when covering the Pain & Gain movie premiere, we couldn’t help but question Bar Paly’s dress. A few questions come to mind:

        Why purple?
It’s see-through, didn’t her stylist have a slip or anything?
Where is the rest of the dress?  Seriously?

Okay, okay, not being too harsh, Bar, we still love you.

          Dual Repair

So, what’s the verdict if you’re looking for a well priced and ultra versatile facial boost? Right now, we are loving the Dual Repair Power Serum from First Aid Beauty [FAB]. LLD staffers have been slathering this stuff on our mugs for several weeks, and the results are impressive. Retailing for $48, this radical product did exactly what we asked it to do. It improved the look, tone, and texture of our skin. Lightweight with high levels of antioxidants extracted from marine micro-algae, this cruelty-free serum tones down redness (side note, those afflicted with Rosacea are particularly happy). Additionally, it smoothes out wrinkles, while promoting that “fresh face” look that every woman wants. Bottom line: this secret weapon hydrates without abandon, and your face glows.
